Fluoroplastics have heat resistance, cold resistance, weather resistance, drug resistance, solvent resistance, excellent insulation properties and high frequency electrical properties. And has the characteristics of non-withering, self-lubricating, low friction coefficient and so on.
The advantages of fluorine plastic performance:
Fluoroplastics are entirely composed of carbon atoms and fluorine atoms, while polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF), polyvinyl fluoride (PVF) molecules also contain hydrogen atoms, polychlorotrifluoroethylene also contains chlorine atoms. The excellent performance of fluoroplastics is achieved by the high binding energy between carbon atoms and fluorine atoms. The main chain skeleton of PTFE is carbon atoms, and the surrounding is completely surrounded by fluorine atoms, so its various properties are the highest, andPFA GranulesDue to the influence of side groups, FEP, ETFE and other varieties have low softening point and other properties have also changed.
1. Thermal properties Fluoroplastics have flame retardant and excellent heat resistance. The continuous use temperature of PTFE and PFA particles can reach 260 ℃, and the short-term use can be at 300 ℃. The use temperature of FEP is 60 ℃ lower than them. PCTFE can be used up to 120°C. Fluoroplastics such as long-term use at high temperatures will cause changes in crystallinity, especially when manufacturing equipment lining.
2. Drug-resistant fluoroplastics have excellent drug resistance and solvent resistance, especially PTFE, PFA particles, FEP, etc. Acid, alkali and solvent have no corrosion to them. However, molten alkali metals, fluorine, and trifluorochlorinated hydrocarbons have varying degrees of influence on them. PCTFE, ETFE, PVDF, etc. are slightly less resistant to chemicals in fluoroplastics, but their corrosion resistance is much better than other plastics.
3. Electrical properties The electrical properties of fluoroplastics, especially high-frequency electrical properties, are difficult to match for other materials. The polarity of PTFE, FEP, PFA particle molecules is very low, in a wide temperature, frequency range change is very small, the relative dielectric constant is stable, the dielectric loss is very low, the electrical insulation is excellent. Among them, PVDF also has specific piezoelectric and pyroelectric properties, which can be used to manufacture piezoelectric materials.
4. Mechanical properties Fluoroplastic molecules containing hydrogen, chlorine atoms increase its tensile strength is also improved. PTFE and PCTFE exhibit extremely low embrittlement temperatures and excellent low temperature properties. PTFE has the lowest coefficient of friction and specific self-lubricating <br/> slip. However, PTFE has its own shortcomings such as large wear and cold flow. Various fillers can be used to improve wear resistance and overcome cold flow.
5. Non-stick fluoroplastics have specific non-stick properties. In particular, such as PTPE, FEP, PFA particles, such as high fluorine content in the molecule, the surface contact angle is very large, so that the liquid on the surface of the fluorine plastic products into a spherical. It is not easy to bond with resin, so it is often used to make cookware surface non-stick layer.
All kinds of fluoroplastics have excellent weather resistance, even in the harsh temperature of long-term exposure, its various properties have not changed.
7. Hydrophobic fluoroplastics have low water absorption, especially PTFE. Its hydrophobicity can be used to make breathable and impermeable composite fabrics and other equipment.
