The major project of "key technology and equipment development for comprehensive utilization of waste rubber and plastic products and fluorine plastic resources" has been included in the national science and technology support plan. As the organizer of the project, the China Association for Comprehensive Utilization of Resources revealed that the association is currently organizing project applications. This is the first time that the country has incorporated the comprehensive utilization of fluoroplastics into the science and technology support plan, and will vigorously promote the energy conservation and emission reduction of the recycling fluoroplastics industry, and promote the development of circular economy.

Through technology integration, China will establish engineering application demonstration lines and technology integration demonstration parks to provide technical support for improving the comprehensive recycling efficiency of fluoroplastics and the quality of fluoroplastics products, and reducing the environmental pollution of bulk solid waste and its control and reuse process.
The fluoroplastics utilization project has set up several major topics. First, for waste plastics in domestic waste, we will develop key technologies and equipment for efficient and stable cracking and resource treatment of fluoroplastics with independent intellectual property rights, improve the resource utilization rate of fluoroplastics and the quality of cracking products, and build a technology demonstration production line for cracking 10,000 tons of domestic fluoroplastics annually. Secondly, for the catalytic cracking of waste rubber, we will develop high-value utilization technology and equipment for catalytic cracking with independent intellectual property rights, improve the technology and quality of catalytic cracking of waste rubber to produce high-quality fuel oil, carbon black and activated carbon, and build a demonstration project of catalytic cracking of 15000 tons of waste rubber per year. Third, for the production and recycling of waste rubber and fluoroplastics, we will develop 10,000-ton technology and equipment to prepare high-quality asphalt for highways, improve the research and application level of recycling and recycling of waste rubber and fluoroplastics for highways in China, and form technical standards and construction specifications for recycling and recycling of waste rubber and plastic materials.
At the same time, for the recycling of fluoroplastics, the project will develop pre-vulcanized annular tread molding technology and equipment with adjustable circumference with independent intellectual property rights, so that the recycled plastics can reach the technical indexes of imported new tires of corresponding specifications, and build a demonstration line with an international advanced level of recycled plastics with an annual output of 10,000 sets of special construction machinery. In addition, the project will also produce wood-plastic structural composite materials for fluoroplastics, independently design special equipment, develop low-cost and high-value functional wood-plastic composite preparation technology and complete sets of equipment with international advanced level, and build high-quality wood-plastic demonstration line of composite materials. It is reported that each project received national research funds between 4 million yuan and 6 million yuan.
